Friends Of The Spencerville Library

Friends of the Library

Friends of the Library (FOL) Spencerville Branch is a non-profit volunteer group which raises funds to assist library programs, contribute to infrastructure improvements and strengthen community engagement. We support the goal of making the library a welcoming hub of services and activities for all ages and interests. Currently, we have about a dozen FOL members but welcome new volunteers to join us.

FOL meets on the second Thursday of the month at 6:00 pm at the Spencerville library. We usually meet eight times a year excluding July and August. If we are doing a major fundraiser, the organizing committee may meet more often. Over the years, we have hosted a number of exciting and successful events including Garden Tours, a Jazz Night at the Mill, used book sales, author readings and volunteer appreciation gatherings. For bigger events, we sometimes develop partnerships with the Spencerville Mill Foundation or other FOL groups which help to strengthen community involvement. There’s always something interesting going on and we always welcome new members to our team.

If you are unable to give your time as an active member, you can still purchase a membership which benefits the library. Just drop a cheque made out to Friends of the Library at the front desk with your address. You will then receive a tax receipt. Other donations are always appreciated and put to good use.

Single membership $10/year
Family membership $15/year
