Here are some things that you can do with your baby at home!

Fingerplays

This Little Piggy

(done with your baby’s toes, starting with the big toe)

This little piggy went to market,
This little piggy stayed at home,
This little piggy had roast beef,
This little piggy had none.
And this little piggy went
“Wee wee wee” all the way home!

Wee Wiggy
(done on your baby’s fingers, starting with the pinkie)

Wee wiggy,
Poke piggy,
Tom whistle,
John gristle,
And big ole gobble, gobble, gobble! (pretend to gobble baby’s thumb)

Bouncing songs

Bounce your baby in your arms or on your knee while you sing these songs. Toddlers can bounce on their own, slapping their knees, clapping their hands and reaching up high with the actions.

A Smooth Road to London Town

A smooth road to London town,
A smooth road to London town,
And the road goes up (lift your baby up or reach into the air)
And the road goes down (set your baby back down or reach down to the floor)
A smooth road to London Town.

But by and by we come to a wood,
And there the roads are not so good.
(Bounce your baby fast)
A bumpy road, a bumpy road, a bumpy road to London town!

A smooth road to London town,
A smooth road to London town,
And the road goes up (lift your baby up or reach into the air)
And the road goes down (set your baby back down or reach down to the floor)
A smooth road to London Town.

But by and by we come to a dell,
And there the roads are not not so swell.

From Wibbleton to Wobbleton
(bounce baby from one side to the other as you sing this song)

From Wibbleton to Wobbleton is 15 miles.
From Wobbleton to Wibbleton is 15 miles.
From Wibbleton to Wobbleton, from Wobbleton to Wibbleton, from Wibbleton to Wobbleton is 15 miles!

Nursery Rhymes

These classic nursery rhymes are great to sing to your baby or toddler!

Little Bo Peep

And doesn’t know where to find them.
Leave them alone and they’ll come home,
Wagging their tails behind them.

Little Miss Muffet

Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet,
Eating her curds and whey.
Along came a spider and sat down beside her,
And frightened Miss Muffet away!

Mary, Mary Quite Contrary

Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells, and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.

Old Mother Hubbard

Old Mother Hubbard, she went to her cupboard,
To fetch her poor dog a bone,
But when she got there, the cupboard was bare,
And so her poor dog had none.
